Welcome to the One.TelcoBill guide! This article will provide you with all the essential information you need to get started with One.TelcoBill, a comprehensive white-label telecom billing solution designed for MSPs, resellers, and telecom service providers.
One.TelcoBill is here to simplify billing, automate taxes, and ensure compliance—so you can focus on growing your business while we handle the complex billing processes.
Invoicing Process:
Partner generates the invoice for a customer (e.g., for telecom services).
One.TelcoBill calculates the taxes (such as FUSF, TRS, E911, etc.) based on customer data.
The customer pays the full invoice amount directly to the partner’s bank account.
On the 6th of each month, One.TelcoBill generates a special tax recovery invoice and charges a billing fee (4% of the total amount billed).
Important Clarification:
TELIN does not bill directly to your end customer. It is the partner (you) who will bill your end-user customer for the full invoice amount. TELIN will only charge the partner for the tax recovery and billing fee, based on the amount the partner has invoiced to their customer. This is a separate invoice from your regular partner account invoice, and it will be billed to the WLB parent account, not the partner account.
So, if you are a partner and you send an invoice to your customer, "Kyle's Movie Theater," for $100, and that invoice includes $10 in tax, Kyle's Movie Theater will pay $110 into your account. TELIN will then bill you for the $10 as a tax recovery + 4% of the total amount billed ($110), which is our billing fee.
In total, the partner billed $110 from the One.TelcoBill portal. TELIN will collect $10 for the tax recovery and $4.40 for the fees in a subsequent invoice on the 6th of the following month.

Staying compliant in telecom isn’t just about delivering services — it’s also about understanding and applying complex tax and regulatory requirements. Below are some of the most frequent (and costly) mistakes providers make.
Many providers fail to collect required telecom fees such as:
Federal Universal Service Fund (FUSF)
Enhanced 911 (E911)
Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS)
Failing to apply these can lead to audits, penalties, and lost revenue.
Telecom tax rates are not uniform — they vary by:
State
City
County
Applying incorrect or generalized rates can result in compliance issues and financial loss.
Even if you're offering VoIP or other internet-based services, you're not off the hook. Many of these services are still subject to:
FCC regulatory fees
Annual filings and compliance obligations
Ignoring these can put your business at serious risk.
Not itemizing taxes and regulatory fees on customer invoices can:
Cut into your profit margins
Lead to confusion or disputes with clients
Transparent billing helps avoid both.
Don’t assume that VoIP is tax-free just because it uses the internet. In many states, VoIP is taxed similarly to traditional telecom services.
Generic invoicing platforms often lack:
Usage-based billing support
Telecom tax rating engines
Regulatory compliance features
To stay compliant and efficient, use purpose-built telecom billing software.
